Whether you suffer from aches and pains or just need to reduce tension, it’s great to experience a relaxing massage. However, it’s often hard to find the time, much less the money for a regular visit to a masseuse. An iJoy massage chair can be a wonderful and convenient way to get daily relief from pain and stiffness and can also help with relaxation.

Benefits of Massage Chairs

Although no massage chair can be a complete replacement for a therapeutic massage, a good massage chair can provide the user with these benefits:

  • Relief of pain
  • Reduction of stiffness
  • Increased blood flow
  • Reduction of toxins
  • Increased flexibility
  • Overall relaxation
  • Improved posture
  • Improved lymph function

Shopping for a massage chair can be overwhelming. There are many types of chairs offering different levels of massage, and several design options. Although important, self-care can be expensive, and some chairs can run as much as $8,000. However, the iJoy massage chair lines are all reasonably priced and can offer many of the benefits of the more expensive models.

What is an iJoy Massage Chair?

iJoy Massage Chair: Product Specs

Many massage chairs are bulky and unsightly. iJoy chairs, however, have a compact design which makes them less obtrusive and easy to move around.  All iJoy chairs come with adjustable settings which can determine the strength of the massage and the angle of the chair. Each model comes in a choice of colors which include espresso, black, and cream. The chairs are sturdy and ergonomic. The iJoy brand is known for durability, and these chairs can last for over 10 years.

Pricing of iJoy Massage Chair

iJoy chairs are reasonably priced with quality models starting at about $500.  Even the premium  iJoy-2580,  which has many luxury features, is only about $1,000. Considering that many massage chairs can cost thousands of dollars, the iJoy offers a good product at a great value.

How iJoy Massage Chair Models Compare

To gain a better understanding of the different options of iJoy chairs here are the descriptions of three popular models.

Human Touch iJoy-2580 Massage Chair

The chair is 44 x 35 x 40 inches and weighs about 88 pounds. It is the largest of the three models being compared.

This iJoy chair includes:

  • 4 massage techniques, rolling, kneading, compression and tapping.
  • Removable massage pad
  • Full recline at the touch of a button
  • Built-in control panel
  • Cupholder
  • Wheels for easy transport
  • Leather upholstery

This is a chair that has a full complement of massage functions that can work out stiff muscles and reduce tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper and lower back. The removable massage pad can be used to adjust the intensity of the massage.   The chair’s automated reclining system makes it easy to adjust to the appropriate height. It comes in stylish espresso or black leather.

iJoy-2310 Robotic Massage Chair

This iJoy model is slightly smaller than the iJoy-2580 at 50.4 x 28.2 x 24.4 inches and 60 lbs. It costs about half as much as the iJoy and offers the same 4 massage functions. It comes with a tethered remote control and a manual recline system controlled by a strap on the seat. The chair's ergonomic construction is specifically designed for those who suffer from upper and lower back pain.  However, as it has no headrest and the seat is relatively low,  it may be difficult for taller people, over 6 '2”  to use.

The iJoy-2310 offers these functions:

  • 4 massage techniques, rolling, kneading, compression and tapping.

Although it does not have the same 4 massage action as the other models, this chair offers 3 auto programs that stretch, orbit, and glide along the muscles. The stretch function works in small circular motions on both side of your spine, the orbit kneads your back from side to side, and the glide applies constant pressure while rolling gently up and down your back.  It also has an adjustable seat width to fit the user.  This chair also does not have a removable massage pad to control massage intensity, so it might not be the best choice for those who prefer a gentler massage.

The iJoy Active 2.0 has these unique features:

  • Special FlexGlide technology that prevents friction and pinching of the spine
  • Compact size
  • Adjustable width
  • Made of Soft-Hyde which feels and looks like leather

The compact size and style of these chairs makes them suitable for integration into nearly any décor and also easy to move around. The smaller size, however, also may make it more difficult for those who are taller and larger to use these chairs.

Although a massage chair cannot be a replacement for intensive massage therapy, these chairs offer their users some definite relief from pain and stiffness. Used just 15 minutes a day they can improve flexibility, blood flow, release toxins, and help with thyroid function. An iJoy massage chair is particularly helpful to those with back pain, office workers who sit all day, and athletes.
